‘Big Brother 12′ – ‘Live Eviction #2, Head of Household #3′ Recap
By
The first eviction, they voted out the Saboteur, thus crashing and burning the whole big twist this season on ‘Big Brother 12.’ This week Matt and Monet are on the block. Will they make the right decision once again?
Of course, Lane is smiling in this picture because he’s not on the block. As a matter of fact, his name doesn’t seem to be coming up at all. It’s very possible that the only hamsters really in the house are Britney, Monet, Rachel, Brendon, Hayden and Enzo. The others might be just visiting for as much as we see of them. Those may be the ones to watch.
Starting off with the inevitable thrice-showing of the Power of Veto ceremony in which Rachel put Matt on the block and mentioned he was a pawn, Monet was steamed. “Whatever! Complete stupid bimbo skanky! I want to punch her!” Then she went to go cry. Then Britney had to cry with her. All of this was while calling Rachel names. You know something? … I’m sick of the crying. And if Monet wants to threaten violence, let’s see what she’s got! Both of these girls love to tear others down. At least Britney isn’t threatening to slap, punch or kick her fellow hamsters.
Matt is most certainly a case. He reminds me a bit of Ronnie — he’s too sure he’s a brilliant puppet-master and thinks no one will catch onto him. I understand why he volunteered to go on the block even though traditionally pawns tend to get evicted more often than not. You see, something always seems to happen to turn the house against the pawn. This week was no exception.
Running to the crying mean girls, Matt acted like he was blind-sided by Rachel’s choice to put him up as a pawn. He told them how angry he was with Rachel. If he had stopped there, it would have been enough for his point. But, no. Matt doesn’t seem to know when to hold and when to fold. He went on to tell them that, if he stays and gets HoH, he plans on putting up both Rachel and Brendon.
Britney is mean, but she’s not dumb. She saw the opening to run to Rachel and tell her Matt’s playing both sides of the house. Rachel, in turn, gave up the news that Matt volunteered to be on the block. Supposedly, that was to remain a secret. So then we had Rachel and Britney crying together. Heck, they might as well invite Amber back in! But Rachel’s anger took over and she called a house meeting.
I’ve never seen anyone squirm as much as Matt when he was confronted. It had to be obvious to everyone that he was caught red-handed and telling a spool of lies. He was stuttering that Rachel strong-armed him into volunteering. Say what? The Brigade stayed fairly quiet during the whole meeting as Monet, Britney, Brendon and Rachel ran the show. Andrew was lucky enough to be in another room praying. In the end, no one believes Matt. Yet it seems Monet’s $10,000 win is more of a detriment than being a huge liar in this house.
When it came to voting time, Monet put little effort into her speech. Matt’s wasn’t all that much better aside from getting a shout-out of “Natalie sucks!” (‘Big Brother 9′) and being the first hamster to refer to Julie Chen as “The ChenBot” on a live show. The votes came down to only Britney and Kathy voting to evict Matt, and everyone else voted to evict Monet. Done deal, bye-bye Monet. Not even her good-bye messages — with the exception of Britney’s and Kathy’s — were all that pleasant. Andrew (who sometimes seems wrong for the game) told her she was wrong for the game. Matt called her a casualty of war. Rachel accused her of trying to steal her man. Let’s keep count here: Both Monet and Annie tried to steal Rachel’s man now. Will Ragan be next?
The Head of Household competition is an endurance one. Each hamster has to stand on a surfboard built into a wall over a moat. Much like video games, the boards go in and out as they balance on them. It reminds me a bit of a competition they had some seasons back in which they stood on a ledge which moved. Both that one and this one involve water coming down on their heads and wind. This one also has shaving cream to make the boards more slippery.
Naturally, the last one standing wins. But they threw in a kicker this time — the first five out will be the Haves while the last four will be Have Nots. Rachel and the new HoH will be Haves this week. The results of the competition won’t air until Sunday evening. However, we know they won’t be standing on the boards that long! As I get this written up, the competition is over.
